Secondary History Challenge Group 2017-18
This course is intended for secondary history teachers who are in the early years of their career development, especially year 2-4. It would also greatly benefit teachers returning to teaching history or who would value refreshing and developing their teaching. The termly sessions provide an invaluable opportunity to network and to develop useable resources and skills relevant to the National Curriculum for History 2014 and the current demands for the GCSE.

Focus this year:
Meeting the challenges of the new GCSEs. Delegates will be challenged to create high quality resources to support your department in teaching the new GCSE to make knowledge memorable and enable students to write extended answers to big exam questions.
- Participate in three sessions focusing on building rigorous and accessible enquiries around real people and places.
- Have an opportunity to network and develop useable resources and skills relevant to the National Curriculum for History 2014 and the current demands for the GCSE.
Intended impact on practice:
- Improve your teaching of the new National History Curriculum, to improve the learning outcomes for your students.

Full cost for the 2017-18 programme: Sub £260 - SLA £150 - Full £312. The cost will be split into 2 invoices in order to spread it over two financial years as follows:
FY 2017-18: Sub £175 - SLA £135 - Full £210 - autumn 2017 and spring 2018 sessions
FY 2018-19: Sub £85 - SLA - £65 - Full £102 - summer 2017 session
