Progression and Assessment in Primary History KS1 and KS2

Participants will learn how to plan activities to ensure strong progression, develop an understanding of formative and summative assessment and establish good records of evidence for all KS1 and KS2 history.

On this course participants will:

  • consider what good progress looks like in history across KS1 and KS2 and on to KS3
  • check their curriculum is planned using the Hampshire history AREs (Age Related Expectations) so embedding progression within and across Key Stage 1 and 2
  • plan activities for individual enquiries that ensure children make good progress
  • explore ways of assessing and recording evidence of progression in primary history
