Session 3 – An English Planning Tool to Support Pupils with SEND
Following the huge take up and success of ‘An English Planning Tool to Support Pupils with SEND’ (ENGL1989), this course offers a session 3 as requested by delegates who attended sessions 1 and 2. Alongside further CPD, this will also be an opportunity to review outcomes with other schools and deepen use of the tool across the school in the future.
Half day course for
Delegates who attended ENGL1989 course previously (English Planning Tool for SEND)
Emma Scribbans - HIAS Teaching & Learning Adviser for English, Lisa Karalius - Teaching & Learning Adviser for English
of concept development not covered in session 1 or 2 will provide further CPD
for delegates including:
Understanding breakdown in the
‘Communication chain’ for SEND children
Spoken language approaches to
supplement the reading and writing documents
Feedback and sharing with other
schools - review of impact so far
HEAMPT version 2 improvements
and an introduction to phase 2 CPD pathways for teachers and TAs in the use of
the HEAMPT, starting September 2018
a variety of feedback approaches, this course will enable schools to share
outcomes so far and support each other to
continue moving forward with the resources.
Other Booking Information
Delegates will be expected to bring examples of planning and children’s work that demonstrate impact of the planning tool to share with other schools – this will be vital for tasks.
